To help bridge the gap between science and media, Evelyn Lamb (Rice PhD, 2012) will work at the Scientific American for 10 weeks this summer. Professor David Damanik receives 2012 Simons Fellowship
With his award of a 2012 Simons Fellowship, Professor David Damanik will have more time to do research. This Simons Foundation program recognizes outstanding mathematicians by extending their academic leave to a full year so that they can focus on problems which require an extensive amount of time and effort.Professor Danijela Damjanovic awarded NSF CAREER grant
As a young faculty member who exemplifies the role of teacher-scholar, Professor Danijela Damjanovic has been awarded a prestigious NSF CAREER grant. In addition to funding her continued research, the grant will allow her to develop graduate and undergraduate courses in the field of dynamical systems.
